Weekend specials in Sun Prairie! 12/1

Hey Sun Prairie, we have some specials for you this weekend!  

Entree: Veal Saltimbocca- Wisconsin veal pounded thin and pan fried with prosciutto, sage and served over fresh linguini with spinach with a buttery lemon pan sauce. A Roman classic. 
Pie: our take on an Italian hoagie. hot soppressata, giardiniera (cauliflower, carrots, pickled jalapeño, yellow onion), pleasant ridge reserve , banana peppers, finished with arugula tossed in a garlic vinaigrette.
And for carry out and delivery : get a specialty pie or build your own 4 topping 16 inch pie with a large salad, chocolate chip cookies and a 2 liter soda for $29. 
And finally, we’re open for lunch. 11-2pm. Come see us!

Tonight at Sal’s on Johnson st. 

Thai tacos:  kafir like braised pork shoulder, butternut squash, shiitakes, long beans, finished with Thai basil, crispy fried noodles and ham pla pirk ( Thai spicy fish sauce)

Pie:  Sea to Table olive oil poached albacore tuna, kalamatas, fresh thyme, roasted garlic, calabrese chili peppers, roasted red peppers. 

Desserts: lee’s made her apple cheesecake tart with hard cider caramel and espresso chocolate mousse cakes with whipped cream.

After a chilly day, nothing is better than a warm fall soup.

Tonight’s specials:

organic tomato and fennel confit soup with Italian sausage, scallions, sarvecchio, and pancetta.

Small plate: roasted market purple and gold cauliflower, romanesco, sweet Carmen peppers, with onion, garlic, and crispy pancetta.

Pie: macerated honey crisp apples, fraboni’s Italian sausage, butter braised leeks, Gorgonzola, and Vitruvian arugula.

Dessert: tart Tatin, caramelized honey crisp apples, fresh thyme, bourbon cream.

Tonight’s special pie! Warm, comforting and wholesome, from our ovens to your belly.

House made Berkshire porchetta, organic JenEhr sweet red Carmen peppers, poblano peppers, garlic, ricotta, slow roasted tomato fresh fennel sauce. Finished with Vitruvian Farms baby watercress.

Special salad: French orange melon, cucumber, heirloom tomato, queso fresco, red onion, pepitas, fig balsamic reduction.

Dessert: chocolate stout cupcake, with chocolate ganache icing.

Ceviche: Line Caught sustainable Sea to Table fresh Amberjack, with avocado, pickled garlic scapes, Vitruvian farm Sorrel, fennel fronds, squash blossom served with crostini and jalapeño pesto.

Pie: Berkshire pork carnitas from Lundeen Farm in Columbus WI, roasted poblano, onion, neuske’s bacon, campechana sauce, finished with house guacamole and jalapeño pesto.

Entree: Black angus roasted beef tenderloin served with local snap peas, mixed beans, roasted potatoes, calabrese chilies, pancetta, and topped with a Sorrel Chipotle compound butter.

Dessert: Honey Semifreddo, made with Pure and Natural raw honey from Doug Jenks in Lake Mills, WI, roasted plums, apricots and garnished with Vitruvian Farms sorrel.

Pie: Marinated choice hanger steak, house ranchero vegetables, local queso fresco, jalapeño salsa, finished with Vitruvian Farms watercress, local radishes and lime.

Entree: Rigatoni with Prince Edward Isle mussels, jumbo shrimp, vitruvian farms spinach, basil, capers, roasted red peppers, sarvecchio, in a light white wine and garlic sauce.

Friday specials? Don’t know about you but We’ve had a heck of a week for sure. So we’re celebrating with an entree:

Churrasco style black angus rib roast with ramp/garlic butter, served with roasted herbed Yukon gold potatoes and fresh asparagus from High Road Dairy in Monroe, a little foraged morel mushrooms (while they last), and finished with shaved sarvecchio and Vitruvian Farms watercress.

Pizza: jalapeño, garlic marinated shrimp, celery, red onion, mixed peppers, tomatoes, farmer johns smoked Gouda chili and garlic aioli and ramp greens.

Salad: strawberry, kiwi, apple, cucumber, fresh ricotta, tomato, pepitas, red onion cucumber raspberry vinaigrette.
